FASA 2024
Platform Provider
Platform Provider
Platform providers have been having a tough time of it since Covid-19 shone a blazing hot spotlight on the quality of their technology and service provision.
Transfer delays, creaking technology and a failure of trade buyers to assimilate and integrate when they have bought a rival platform provider are becoming perennial complaints among advisers.
With so much M&A activity in the sector, and so many different technologies underpinning each platform, it is unsurprisingly difficult to uphold top-notch service levels while integrating, revamping and running sometimes conflicting systems.
That said, there was a marked improvement year on year among platform scores. Advisers chose three five-star winners this year, based on their collective scores.
True Potential, Fundment and Quilter all gained five stars in 2024, with True Potential and Quilter moving up from four stars in 2023, and Fundment coming from far behind to scoop a top-ranking spot from nowhere in 2023.
A relative newcomer – Fundment only began in 2018 with one advice firm user – the platform has developed its proposition, led by founder Ola Abdul. Judging by the scores, has certainly gained the advisers’ approval.
We look forward to seeing more improvements in this category over the next 12 months, especially among those companies that have languished, year after year, on one star.
